Filmed intermittently over four years, Grandma & Isabella is a poetic, observational documentary centered on Livina and her great-granddaughter, Isabella. Following a 'day in the life' narrative and chronological order, this short film begins in the morning when Isabella is four years old and concludes at night with her at age eight.
Day by day, Livina prepares breakfast, assists Isabella with schoolwork, oversees playtime, and savors quiet moments to read her daily scripture and watch soap operas. The film reflects on the often unseen labor of caregiving and the quiet commitment of those who step in, generation after generation.
