Director of Photography
History nearly forgot Fanny Mendelssohn Hensel. Living in the shadow of her brother, Felix Mendelssohn, her talent as a composer remained largely unseen, despite a body of work exceeding 450 compositions. Fanny: The Other Mendelssohn is a feature documentary that brings her voice forward at last. Directed by her great-great-great-granddaughter, BAFTA-winning filmmaker Sheila Hayman, the film honors a legacy long denied recognition.
I contributed to this project as a director of photography, filming Fanny Mendelssohn’s long-lost manuscript at The Morgan Library & Museum and pianist Sarah Rothenberg in Manhattan.
